Hello All & Welcome to Cape Town.
Every local loves to brag about where they come from, and I’m sure that’s a universal truth. There is a signature thing that each place is well known for. World-renowned Pop-Star Justin Bieber released a chart-topping single titled Peaches recently. In this song, he has a lyric that reminds those who forgot – as well as educates those who didn’t know – that Georgia produces some of the world’s best fruits, particularly peaches. There are many songs that serve as odes to cities & countries that we have all come to love.
In 2009, Alicia Keys and Jay-Z gave us one of the most beloved songs of the decade, Empire State of Mind. It was a song dedicated to the city of New York, which resonated with millions across the globe because even if you had never been to the city, you’d know what someone was talking about when they mentioned a concrete jungle where dreams are made of.
Having said all that, I would like to point out that each place has its own magical qualities. For example, the Eiffel Tower is one of the most iconic landmarks in Paris, so if you don’t see it while you’re there, have you even been to Paris? (For fans of Friends, try saying that in your best Chandler Bing impression.)
Although it may be unfair to say that other places only have one thing that’s appealing about them, I believe they still lack the range & diversity that exists in Cape Town & the Western Cape. I am biased right now, but that’s the impression that I want to give. Cape Town offers everything that any avid traveller, adventurer, luxury traveller, an experienced traveller, or novice traveller could ever hope for. Besides the world-renowned Table Mountain, we also have many beautiful & scenic mountains. The beaches in the area are pristine and can rival some of the world’s most beautiful white-sand beaches. (Yes, I am referring to you, Matira and Navagio)
The Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden is a place with a lot to offer, so much so that you would need to visit at least five times to fully appreciate what the place offers. Furthermore, the folks over at Face Adrenaline would love to meet you & assist you in conquering your fear of heights by leaping the World’s Highest Bungee. Moreover, if you feel that you still have a thirst for adrenaline that still hasn’t been quite quenched; you can always get your fix at Sky Dive Cape Town. Cape Town has so much to offer that this blog would turn into an encyclopaedia if I tried to go through it all.
